70th Annual Flower & Produce Show The Annual Flower & Produce Show is the highlight of the year and this year was particularly special since it was our 70th. The sun shone and the show was very well attended and full of colour despite the recent heavy rains.
We were pleased to welcome the Mayor, Maurice Watson, who was accompanied by the Mayoress and the Deputy Mayoress.
The Mayor congratulated everyone on putting on such an excellent show which he had very much enjoyed. He also thanked everyone for making him, his wife and the Deputy Mayoress so welcome and for the excellent refreshments.
The Brand Memorial Bowl for the Best Exhibit in Show went to Wendy Alexander for her floral art arrangement 'The Beauty of the Night'. The Banksian Medal for the highest amount of money won in Sections 1 to 4 went to Rodney Reeve, whilst the J B Sainsbury Cup for the highest points total in Sections 1 to 4 was won by Lal Ratnayake. A full list of prize winners will be available shortly.
