Charlie Bloom, RHS multi award winning designer of Show Gardens and gardener gave us a very interesting talk 'The Madness of Show Gardening'.
She spoke about how she started designing gardens and her first show garden for BBC Gardener's World Live in Birmingham where she designed a garden entitled 'Financial Times' and won a Bronze medal in 2013. Her second show garden in 2014 called 'Colour in Contrast' was awarded an RHS Silver medal and the following year saw her design a show garden at RHS Hampton Court entitled 'The Tea Party'. During the talk she included many interesting pictures of her garden designs. Charlie's apt surname is genuine! She earns her living as a gardener since most show gardens are done for love and result in a loss for the designer. Follow her entertaining and thought provoking on Twitter @BloomsBlogs Simon Webster, who accompanied her, talked about his show garden last year at Hampton Court entitled 'Ready.... Aim.... Flower!' for which we was awarded a silver medal. A question and answer section by Charlie then completed a very enjoyable evening. charliebloomsgardendesigns.co.uk |
